Environmental Engineering Lab

Environmental Engineering Lab

Description:
The Environmental Engineering Laboratory provides a comprehensive platform for students to analyze and evaluate the quality of water and wastewater through experimental investigation. The laboratory aims to enhance the understanding of environmental concepts, pollution control methods, and sustainable engineering practices in alignment with academic and industry standards. Students are trained to determine key water and wastewater quality parameters such as pH, turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, chlorides, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and solids. Eco Sustainability Club "Shaashwat" is formed under this lab.

Features:
The laboratory is well-equipped with instruments such as BOD incubator, COD digester, turbidity meter, pH meter, flocculator, DO analyser, flame photometer and hot air oven, facilitating testing as per BIS and CPCB standards.

Fluid Mechanics Lab

Description:
The lab is utilized by undergraduate students (for Fluid Mechanics in Semester I) as well as Ph.D. scholars. Research Project grants from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune have supported two projects.

Geotechnical Lab

Geotechnical Lab

Description:
The Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory provides students with practical knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation engineering principles. Students perform a wide range of experiments to determine index properties (moisture content, specific gravity, Atterberg limits, and grain size distribution) and engineering properties (permeability, compaction characteristics, shear strength, and consolidation behaviour). These experiments help students understand soil behaviour under various conditions.

Features:
The laboratory is equipped with Sieve Shaker, Casagrande’s Liquid Limit Device, Proctor Compaction Apparatus, Permeability Apparatus, Direct Shear Test Setup, Triaxial Shear Test Apparatus, Unconfined Compression Testing Machine (UCT), and Core Cutter. Carries Indian Geotechnical Society Chapter.

Description:
The Transportation Lab is utilized by undergraduate students for the Transportation Engineering Course. The lab is spacious and well-equipped for Aggregate Testing, Bitumen Testing, Bituminous Mix Testing, and Structural Evaluation of Pavement.

Description:
The Strength of Materials Laboratory provides students with practical understanding of material behaviour under various loading conditions. Tests on materials like mild steel, cast iron, wood, and concrete determine properties such as tensile and compressive strength and modulus of elasticity.

Concrete Technology Lab

Concrete Technology Lab

Description:
The Concrete Technology Laboratory imparts knowledge on the properties and performance of concrete and its materials. Students test cement, aggregates, and concrete for fineness, consistency, setting time, specific gravity, workability, compressive strength, and flexural strength.

Equipped with Compression Testing Machine (CTM), Vicat Apparatus, Slump Cone, Sieve Shaker, Curing Tank, J-Ring, and Concrete Mixer.

Description:
The Engineering Mechanics Laboratory provides hands-on experience in fundamental principles of mechanics such as forces, equilibrium, and motion. Students perform experiments on beams, trusses, frames, and pulleys to understand theoretical and practical correlations.

Equipped with Simple and Compound Pendulum, Inclined Plane Setup, Spring and Beam Testing Apparatus, Law of Polygon and Friction Apparatus.
